Kenyan MP’s Version of the National Anthem

Author Unknown

Politicians of all persuasions
Strip this our land and nation.
Fortunes motivate us and keep us.
May we steal with impunity
Dodge taxes in unity;
Plenty be sourced within our dockets.

Let all politicians arise
With scams both wily and foolproof.
Eating be our earnest endeavour,
And our cake-stand of Kenya,
Heritage of plunder,
May we fight forever to perpetuate.

Let parties with one accord,
In common greed united,
Bankrupt our nation together.
May the agony of Kenya,
The fruit of our behaviour,
Remain hidden from our 2012 voters

Get rid of comment moderation, it’s dissuades people from leaving comments.

I’m sure it does, but moderation is here to stay ever since I started receiving threats via the comments.

absolutely brilliant!!! would love to sing this during a moi day celebrations at the stadium!!!

  • i like this one, although the public should take some blame here. I mean these people mirror what we are. We worship them during elections and we dance to their tunes and keep electing the wrong people. To say the truth there is no democracy in Kenya. It is a bunch of rich people exchanging the MPship..It is always about the rich verses the rich. I remember the swahili book i read in high school of Bwana Ndovu and Bi Tamaa and the way they used to manipulate the poor people during elections. It is the same thing, same cast with different names.

if i am not wrong, i first came across this version of the anthem on Kate Getao’s flakes column in the sato nation- she may have been the author, though not sure

i think the constitution should be changed such that an MP can be recalled by voters before their term matures and their allowances reduced by 200%.this will ensure aspiring MPs are motivated only by desire to serve rather than to amass wealth

  • I love how powerful laptops and netbooks are becoming.
