Election 2007 Dec 28 2:00 pm update

– For guys who are asking about Sakuda, no updates as counting has been suspended as I said in my last post due to chaos.

– For guys who want more updates – relax – I’m one person doing the best I can on a voluntary basis and with a family that’s been cooped up in the house so that I can keep doing this so cut me some slack.

– Chaos in Kamkunji, ODM candidate claiming rigging.

– Wajir East – Mohamed Mahamud out

– Rongai – Luka Kigen leading

– Wajir East – Elmi leading

– Current seats – ODM 33, PNU 7, Safina 3, UDM 1, GKP 1, KANU not sure (by the way I don’t think there’ll be an official opposition and this is not a good thing, KANU is dead)

– Mbooni – Mutula Kilonzo in, Munyao out

– Moyale – Mohamed Ali in

– Wajir North – Abdullahi Ali leading over Hussein Mohammed leading, very very tight.

– Ganze – Francis Bayah in

– Gatanga – Peter Kenneth in

– Gatundu North – Patrick Muiruri out

– Presidential stats: Raila 57%, Kibaki 37%, Kalonzo 5%

Dujis was taken away by Aden Duale of ODM. Lagdera ODM candidate Farah Maalim has a commanding lead, irreversible.

Ory we really appreciate your efforts man – and please pass our apologies to family. Out here we can’t seem to be getting anything on the parliamentary results as all the medias (nation, Standard etc) are just concentrating on the Presidential ones!

    Kudos mate keep it up!

KP, you’re doing a fantastic job! I’m also glued to the TV (work!) and I can tell you, you’re doing an amazing job!

And WHAT!!! I must partake of some serious celebratory bevs today. Everytime I think about the results, I swear I get teary-eyed.

I am SO proud of Kenyans today. With turn-out set to rock over 80 %, we are making history here people!!

Need hanky for real. It’s getting real emotional for me yaani!!

This morning I woke up desperately in need of election updates. I must say that I kind of stumbled towards Kenyan pundit, and EUREKAH! 60 % Of my urgent querries found answers.

Did i detect some hinge of frustration on Orys current update?

My advice is since you enjoy what you are doing and you are good at it, you must also have in place a mechanism to deal with the information thirsty kenyans. This is an important period in the life of a Kenyan and you happen to be the one with the answers atleast for now…so enjoy while you can

    Thank you for the updates..

  • Akishdebaba

i am holering from up north canada, this is history made like no other, I hope our counterpart sisters and brothers take not of this and may there be a democratic peaceful revolution in all of africa, then a dream of UNITED STATES OF AFRICA may be dreamed one day, bravo ory you are a genius. Last but not least i hope this is the era of all of us being one as kenyans and no retarded idiology of tribalism, more power to the people

  • Turn out was amazing, I am watching KBC and they just said that in Kajwang’s Mbita turnout got to the high 90s. Elsewhere its running inthe high 60s and 70s, pretty good stuff.

    Is Saitoti losing?

  • Okolloh’s entry on Raila’s press briefing omitted one important Q&A. When asked on what basis ODM would accept a PNU win, Raila responded by saying that only after a complete recount witnessed by media and observers.
