Baby KP Update

She’s just turned nine months and is such a joy. She can wave goodbye and hello…it’s the cutest thing. FINALLY sleeping through the night…yes I endured 8.5 months of not having more than 4 hours of straight sleep. What did it in the end? Not sure. I increased her protein intake quite a bit (both lunch and dinner), she’s a lot more active during the day, and maybe she just decided it was time to give Mama a break (confession, I kind of missed her at night the first few nights she slept through). Kinda crawling. Well, it’s more like the caterpillar move thingy. She’s very fast especially when a forbidden object is in sight. But given her issues with tummy time, any movement on her stomach is an accomplishment in my view. She’s really eager to walk, though I think that’s a couple of months away.
(That’s jelly in the pic, we do a mums and babies playgroup once a week).

Hi Ory,
Been lurking which aint fair but still … I am here.
Cannot believe that it was the other day we were talking ’bout you being 3 months pregnant. Gabriella (I have a thing about shortening names, hope that is ok with ya) is a blessing.
I have a ‘nephew’ coming up xmas day n I will be needing all the help I can get.
In the last 3 months I know more about babies than I knew in the last 10 years - can I ’sit’ her while u gallivant over here (stateside)?
Talking of ‘eager to walk’ - a friend came over that has a six month old that is so eager to crawl that it was painful to watch. You had to see it to understand.

Baby KP updates are my best reads on your blog. I kind of feel that she is my own daughter too thanks to the kindness of her mama. Shes is obviously a beautiful young girl. BTW she has such cute hair. Mine only looks like that after 30 painful minutes of texturizer. kiss kiss to baby KP.

They sure grow up fast!..enjoy every moment. I have two so I know how amazing it is seeing them do every little new thing…it’s like witnessing a miracle unfold right infront of your eyes. As you revel in watching her develop, remember what they say…you spend the first year encouraging them to walk and talk and the rest of their lives (atleast until they leave the nest) asking them to sit down and shut up.

KP going off ona tangent, can you please provide some handicapping for the political debacle that is unfolding in SA i.e. the looming Zuma presidency!!!!
It depresses the hell out of me that South Africa will be unable to escape the legacy of mediocrity and incompetence on the continent that the rest of us are still suffering through….from Mandela to Zuma…….it is criminal to even contemplate it!
What will middle class Black South Africa do? Does Mbeki have an ace up his sleeve? Pray can this trainwreck be stopped?
