Quick Hits: Africa Special
- New blog from Tanzania that will be featuring recipes from Tanzania and other countries. Can’t wait. Hat tip Jikomboe!
- Budding African podcasters could use this. It allows podcasters to transmit their work on FM. Hat tip Jikomboe!
- Are African governments finally getting switched on to the potential of the African blogosphere in terms of opening people’s minds? Could be in Ethiopia. I agree with Ethan, censorship is the sincerest form of flattery but I hope this will not be permanent.
- I like Bazungubucks’ Microlibros idea (scroll down the post to get to it). Perhaps he should get together with Gukira and produce the pamphlet mashup (hint, hint)
- $100 laptop may not suit South Africa.
- And finally, Arrive, Make a Scene, Take a Photo, Leave. Thought-provoking.
A huge thank you for your mention of Microlibros. It was a nice surprise and my face turned red. But a big smile came over my face with the Gukira suggestion because I’ve noted his proposal for a pamphlet publishing operation. One of the sources for the genre of Cowboy poetry here in the USA were little books given as premiums by way of coupons on tobacco. Such a tried an true model of funding may be a way to fund it. In any case it shows that small books can indeed foster a reading culture.
I enjoy you because of all your hard work on this website. My mum take interest in setting aside time for investigations and it’s obvious why. Most of us know all concerning the dynamic way you present priceless tips through this web site and as well as welcome participation from some other people on that area of interest while our favorite princess is certainly understanding so much. Take advantage of the rest of the year. You are carrying out a first class job.
