The Guardian newspaper tried this in 2004 at the last election and were inundated with letters and emails from US citizens, very annoyed at being patronised and told what to do by "outsiders." If anything, it actually increased Bush's proportion of the vote. I didn't think they'd do something like this again. Guess I was wrong. Very, very bad idea.
