Hi,

I think thats a great move on KDNs part, however my concern is on thee security end...how secure is that network? It may be good when one just wants to download, or browse the web, etc but more risky when accessing more delicate info. I don't understand why KDN just can't come to our rescue and offer a reliable and guaranteed service whereby they can come over and install equipment, etc and allocate you bandwidth that you may need! Majority of the ISps now in Kenya are just taking their customers for one BIG ride!!!!! and a costly one at that if you consider the amount of cash that they charge per month for poor service.

Safaricom would do great if they just lower their prices and come up with suitable packages, esp for 'unlimited internet'.

But i guess until then we are at the mercy of the Money hungry---no service delivery ISPs.....

We need an ISP savior!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Peace out!!!!!

and how much will it cost when the trial is over?????"

The price I'm paying is KShs 2,900 for one month with unlimited access. They also have Kshs 200 for 12 hours and KShs 50 for 2 hours. I had to buy these top-up cards from their headquarters on Mombasa Road but they've introduced M-Pesa payments for the 200 and 2,900 service.

To recharge via M-Pesa their business number is 300333:

For Nairobi Send either 200 or 2900 to account numbers NRBKIPEPEO200 or NRBKIPEPEO2900
For Coast Send either 200 or 2900 to account numbers MSAKIPEPEO200 or MSAKIPEPEO2900
For Central Send either 200 or 2900 to account numbers MERUKIPEPEO200 or MERUKIPEPEO2900
For Western Send either 200 or 2900 to account numbers KSMKIPEPEO200 or KSMKIPEPEO2900

You'll be sent the code immediately. I've only used the Nairobi, so might be worth calling them first for the others.

Can someone just give a procedure for connecting after seeing the existence of a butterfly network. Believe me I can get upto 54Mbps at greenfields but the nearest Access point as far as I know is the JKIA Cargo area. Just outline how I can go about pliz!

Does anyone know if there should be butterfly at Nairobi Dam area along langata road? Next to Uchumi Hyper. I very rarely see butterfly among my networks. KDN guys told me they will cover the area soon. How soon do you think this can be?
How does one connect to Mobil on the Run? I can see a 2 sticks strength on my laptop but it fails to connect. Do I need to configure anything? Isn't an area like Langata Shopping center(Nairobi Dam) supposed to have butterfly? I wonder when KDN will ever cover this area. How soon can they?

Hi guys, am told KDN has now partnered with Nandos(mobil on the run) and they will provide free WiFi internet at their eateries. The services is up and running now. Contact the management/staff for more details. Great speeds too
